Long haired dachshund

Long haired dachshund is one of the most beautiful dachshunds among the three coats. They have medium to long silky hair throughout the body, with soft, straight, and slightly wavy hair. Also, have noticeable feathering on the ears, chest, legs, belly, and tail. Their tail is often plumed, giving an attractive appearance.

Long-haired dachshunds are playful and curious dogs. They are always keen to learn new things. They have high energy, and they need daily exercise to prevent them from having excess energy. When your dachshund has excess energy, it is likely to have behavioral issues like excessive barking and howling.

Size of the long haired dachshund depend on their sub breed, smooth haired dachshund comes in two different types of sub breed (standard and miniature) standard long haired dachshund can have weight between 16-32 pound (7-14.5 kg) while miniature long haired dachshund can have weight up to 11 pound (5kg).

Dachshunds are known for their small size; their height depends on their type. Standard long haired dachshunds have 20-23 cm of height at the shoulder, while miniature dachshunds have 13-15 cm of height at the shoulder.
